President granted authority over Internal Troops Command

The President will appoint and dismiss the commander of the internal troops and officers holding higher military ranks.

1news.media reports that this was stated in the Decree on the application of the law "On the internal troops of the Republic of Azerbaijan" signed by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to the Decree, the President's release from active military service to reserve or resignation is also within their competence.

The head of state will also assign higher military ranks to military personnel of the internal troops and approve the charter of the military council of the internal troops.
