Azerigaz Production Union, UAE’s Esyasoft Holding LTD sign $480M contract

On July 17, a contract was signed between SOCAR’s “Azerigaz” Production Union and the UAE’s “Esyasoft Holding” LTD for the design, installation, and commissioning of a Smart Gas Network, SOCAR told 1news.media 

The primary objective of the project is to enhance operational efficiency in gas distribution across Azerbaijan through the application of advanced smart gas management technologies, to optimize costs, reduce existing gas losses, and improve customer and public satisfaction with the services provided by “Azerigaz” PU.

The project will span approximately 14 years, taking into account the installation of 2.5 million smart meters and the system support phases. During this period, an investment of 480 million US dollars is planned. This investment will enable the digitalization of the network, installation of smart pressure and temperature sensors, establishment of a Digital Solutions Lab, training of personnel in advanced technologies, facilitation of international knowledge exchange, application of artificial intelligence, secure placement of data within the Government Cloud, and the construction of a modern control center equipped with state-of-the-art technologies.

Consumers will benefit from more accurate billing, real-time usage monitoring, faster issue resolution, remote services, and easy access to consumption data via digital platforms.

It should be noted that this contract follows the cooperation agreement signed last year during COP29 in Baku between SOCAR and “Esyasoft Holding” LTD. The contract was signed by SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf, Director General of Azerigaz PU Azer Mammadov, and Group CEO of “Esyasoft Holding” LTD Bipin Chandra.
