Abbas Abbasov: BIG rejects new colonialism in the modern world

“The transformation of Guadeloupe into a French colony is part of France’s policy of inequality. The unemployment rate here is 18-20 percent - much higher than in mainland France - and the region remains underdeveloped,” said Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), at a conference dedicated to Guadeloupe.

Abbasov emphasized that BIG does not accept new colonialism in the modern world and supports the right of the people of Guadeloupe to self-determination.
