China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a telephone conversation on Thursday with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.

During the call, Araghchi briefed Wang Yi on the latest developments in Iran, saying that stability has been restored in the country and that the door remains open for dialogue.
The Iranian foreign minister also said Tehran expects China to play a more active role in ensuring peace and stability in the region.
For his part, Wang Yi stressed that China remains committed to the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law, and opposes the use of force in international relations.
He added that China calls on all parties to exercise restraint and resolve their differences through dialogue, emphasizing that Beijing is ready to play a constructive role in the process.
