AFFA expels Istiglal from regional league

AFFA has expelled the “Istiglal” club from the Regional League.

1news.media reports the decision was made by AFFA’s Disciplinary Committee.

The “Istiglal” vs. “Sabirabad” match scheduled for December 28 last year did not take place because the home team failed to show up at the stadium on time.

As a result, “Istiglal” was handed a 3-0 technical loss.

Since this marked the third consecutive occurrence of such a no-show, the team has been removed from the tournament.
