The U.S. administration is calling on the governments of Cambodia and Thailand to immediately halt fighting along the border and take steps to reduce tensions.
1news.media reports that this was stated in a declaration by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
“The United States is concerned about the ongoing clashes and casualties in multiple areas along the Cambodia–Thailand border. We call for an immediate end to military operations, the protection of civilians, and for both sides to return to the de-escalation measures outlined in the Kuala Lumpur Peace Agreement signed on October 26 by the prime ministers of Cambodia and Thailand, with the participation of President Donald Trump and Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim,” Rubio said.
It should be noted that clashes between Thailand and Cambodia have resumed.
