Azerbaijani boxer Subhan Mamedov (50 kg) has become the champion of the U-23 European Championship.
1news.media reports that the national team’s leader defeated Maksym Rudyka (Ukraine) in the final.
Winning all three rounds, Mamedov claimed a 4:1 victory (28:29, 29:28, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27) and secured the European champion title.
Thus, the national team led by Elbrus Rzayev finished the European Championship with three medals. Before Mamedov, Tagi Nasibov (60 kg) and Sebuhi Alizade (+90 kg) had won bronze medals.
It should be noted that 271 boxers from 33 countries competed in the European Championship.
