Kremlin questions Airbus chairman’s remarks on nuclear weapons

Statements by Airbus chief Rene Obermann calling for the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Europe—supposedly to counter Russia’s defense systems in the Kaliningrad region—show that Europeans are losing restraint and clear judgment in their approach.

1news.media informs Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated this at a briefing.

“It’s obvious that more and more Europeans are losing their restraint and sense of measured decision-making,” Peskov noted. “And some, unfortunately, make such provocative statements, essentially calling for further steps that only fuel tension and escalate the situation.”

“We view this negatively,” he emphasized.

“Kaliningrad is an inseparable part of Russia,” the Kremlin representative stressed. “Against the backdrop of current events and the prevailing mood in Europe, the Russian Federation, of course, is taking all necessary measures to ensure its security, stability, and predictability — both today and in the future.”
