Bayramov meets EU Envoy to discuss regional cooperation

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, Magdalena Grono.

1news.media reports that during the meeting, the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan-European Union (EU) cooperation, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, as well as regional and international issues were discussed.

Cooperation issues between Azerbaijan and the EU in political, economic, transport, energy security, etc., areas were reviewed. The importance of negotiations on cooperation platforms and instruments between Azerbaijan and the European Union was highlighted.

The high-level contacts between the two sides and the dialogues held in recent months were satisfactory, and the importance of continuing efforts in this direction was emphasized.

The Special Representative expressed the European Union's readiness to support the achievements within the framework of the Washington Summit.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in turn, informed the other party about the progress and prospects achieved in the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization and peace process, and brought our country's position to the attention of the other party.

The meeting also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
