UN urges US to end deadly attacks

The UN has called on the US to stop attacks on ships allegedly carrying drug smugglers in the Caribbean and the Pacific and to prevent extrajudicial killings.

1news.media reports that UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk spoke about this.

“At least 62 people have died in US attacks in recent weeks. Washington claims that these ships were carrying drugs, but families and some governments say that fishermen were among the victims.

These people were killed for no reason. The attacks and the increasing loss of life are unacceptable. The US must stop these attacks and take all necessary measures to prevent the extrajudicial killings of people on the ships,” Turk stressed.
