On September 1, an Azerbaijani delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev embarked on a working visit to Ankara, the capital of Türkiye, to attend the opening ceremony of the New Judicial Year 2025–2026.
The delegation first visited the park named after National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev in Ankara, where they laid a wreath at his monument and honored his memory.
During the official ceremony, Vice President of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz underlined the crucial role of judicial and prosecutorial bodies in ensuring justice and congratulated the participants on the start of the new judicial year. He also extended greetings to Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Inam Karimov.
Highlighting the steadily developing brotherly relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, the Turkish Vice President stressed that cooperation in all fields, particularly in law enforcement, is of lasting nature.
“Thanks to the joint political will of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, bilateral relations have reached their highest level — that of a strategic alliance,” he emphasized.
As part of the visit, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev held meetings with Türkiye’s Prosecutor General Muhsin Şentürk, President of the Supreme Court of Appeal Ömer Kerkez, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, as well as other international counterparts.
The meetings featured fruitful discussions on strengthening legal cooperation, expanding the exchange of experience, and addressing issues of mutual interest.
