Astana hosts first-ever Asian vocal contest “Silk Way Star”

The first-ever Asian vocal competition, “Silk Way Star,” is currently underway in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

The competition brought together representatives from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, South Korea and other countries

Singer and actress Sabina Guluzade, a semi-finalist of The Voice of Azerbaijan represents Azerbaijan at the competition.

The project consists of 10 episodes, nine of which are pre-recorded, culminating in a spectacular live finale on November 22.

Audiences can expect unique duets, performances of national hits, and emotional stories from contestants representing diverse cultures.

The show emphasizes intercultural collaboration, making it a celebration of both music and unity.

Each episode runs for over 100 minutes, and broadcasts are planned in Kazakh, Chinese, and English.

Held in honor of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Constitution, the competition also features symbolic moments. Participants congratulated locals in front of the country’s tallest flagpole and explored the “Jeti Kazyna” — the seven treasures of nomadic heritage.

The grand finale promises to be one of the year’s most dazzling musical events, airing live on Jibek Joly/Silk Way TV and major broadcasters in participating countries. The winner will earn the prestigious “Silk Way Star” title and the opportunity to showcase their talent on the global stage.
