Erdogan and Tokayev hold strategic talks in Ankara
A formal meeting is being held between the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
1news.media reports that Erdogan welcomed Tokayev in front of the walls of the “Beştepe” Presidential Complex.
The national anthems of both countries were played, and members of the delegations were introduced to the presidents.
Subsequently, both restricted and extended format talks began. The agenda includes not only bilateral relations but also topics such as integration within the Turkic world, and the situations in Ukraine and the Middle East.
Erdogan and Tokayev will participate in the fifth meeting of the Turkiye-Kazakhstan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. A number of documents are expected to be signed following the meeting.
A joint press conference by the presidents of Turkiye and Kazakhstan is also planned.
