Somalia studies “ASAN service” model
A delegation led by Mohamed Amin Sheikh Osman, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Office of the President of Somalia, visited Azerbaijan from July 7 to 8 to study the ASAN service model.
The visit was organized within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed during the Somali President’s visit to Azerbaijan in February, which outlines cooperation between the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Office of the President of Somalia in the area of public service delivery.
On the first day of the visit, the Somali delegation paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence and sovereignty by visiting Victory Park and the Alley of Martyrs.
During a meeting with Jeyhun Salmanov, Deputy Chairman of the State Agency, the delegation was briefed on the operations of ASAN service centers and the range of social innovation projects initiated under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. The Azerbaijani side emphasized that the ASAN service model, as an intellectual brand, has already been introduced to more than 25 countries.
The Somali delegation expressed strong interest in establishing a single-window service center based on the ASAN model in Somalia and requested continued support from Azerbaijan in this endeavor.
The delegation also toured several ASAN service centers in Baku, as well as the “INNOLAND” Incubation and Acceleration Center, the 108 Call Center, and ASAN Radio/TV, gaining insight into their structure and operations.
Throughout the visit, various departments of the State Agency delivered detailed presentations and held discussions on topics relevant to public service delivery and digital governance.
