Vienna hosts 9th OPEC International Seminar
The 9th OPEC International Seminar kicked off today in Vienna, Austria, under the theme “Charting pathways together: the future of global energy.”
The Azerbaijan State News Agency (1news.media) is serving as an official media partner of the high-level event, which has become one of the milestone gatherings of the global energy industry.
The seminar has brought together ministers from OPEC and non-OPEC countries, representatives from energy-producing and consuming nations, heads of international organizations, major energy companies, financial institutions, political figures, industry leaders, experts, scientists, and journalists.
Established in its modern format in 2001, the OPEC International Seminar aims to explore key global energy issues, foster dialogue and cooperation, and offer diverse perspectives on factors affecting the energy sector in the short, medium, and long term. The event features keynote speeches, panel discussions, and expert presentations.
Special preparations were made for this year’s edition, marking the 65th anniversary of OPEC’s establishment.
The two-day seminar includes high-level ministerial sessions, thematic roundtables, and an awards ceremony.
Azerbaijan is represented at the event by Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and COP29 President and Representative of the President of Azerbaijan on Climate Issues, Mukhtar Babayev.
