Mikhail Gusman: I propose holding a conference on President Ilham Aliyev’s role in media development

“The 26 interviews given by President Ilham Aliyev during the 44-day Patriotic War are a truly remarkable example of professional journalistic diplomacy,” said TASS First Deputy Director General Mikhail Gusman at the conference titled “The Role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Media Development.”

Noting that a significant date will be marked in November - the fifth anniversary of the Great Victory - Mikhail Gusman addressed the leadership of the Media Development Agency with a proposal to organize a conference dedicated to President Ilham Aliyev’s role in the development of Azerbaijani media ahead of the anniversary.

“I believe such a conference would be momentous. The 26 interviews given by President Ilham Aliyev during the 44-day Patriotic War are an outstanding example of journalistic diplomacy. I know that a book has been published compiling these interviews, but I believe the Commander-in-Chief's information strategy deserves separate analysis and discussion. I would be glad if such a conference were held,” Gusman stated.
