Ersin Tatar: I express my gratitude to Ilham Aliyev for his special attention to Northern Cyprus

Ersin Tatar, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and all the people of Azerbaijan for the special attention to Northern Cyprus, during the press conference regarding the outcomes of his visit to Azerbaijan on the sidelines of the 17th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit held in Khankendi.

"I would like to thank Azerbaijan and Türkiye for their contribution to the development of Nicosia's relations with the Turkic states, including the lifting of unjust sanctions and embargoes. We are particularly pleased with the comprehensive development of relations with Azerbaijan," Ersin Tatar underlined.

According to him, the ECO Summit held in Khankendi raised the awareness of the world community about the TRNC.

“For the first time in the history of relations within the ECO, we were represented at such a high level, and we felt ourselves like part of a big family. The fact that the flag of the TRNC was hung in the hall of the Summit, along with the flags of other states, indicates that Nicosia is recognized as a dialogue partner," the politician emphasized.

Ünal Üstel, Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), also expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan and Türkiye, by sharing a post on his social media accounts.
