UK expels Russian diplomat in retaliation
The British authorities have decided to expel one of the Russian diplomats from the country and revoke his accreditation.
1news.media informs that this was reported on the British government website.
Official London decided in response to the actions of the Russian side. Thus, in the middle of last month, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that an employee of the British Embassy in Moscow was cooperating with British intelligence agencies. We are talking about Gareth Samuel Davis, the second secretary of the Administrative and Economic Department, whose accreditation was revoked, and a demand was made to leave the country within two weeks.
The Russian Ambassador to London, Andrei Kelin, was summoned to the Foreign Ministry in connection with the issue. The ambassador was informed that Great Britain considered the incident as unacceptable pressure on the employees of its diplomatic mission and that retaliatory measures were being taken.
The British did not disclose the name of the diplomat whose accreditation will be revoked.
