Russia prefers to negotiate with Witkoff rather than with media
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to say whether the U.S. plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine includes a clause preventing Kyiv from joining NATO, or who Moscow believes should provide such guarantees.
1news.media informs, citing TASS, “Are you suggesting we discuss this with Reuters rather than Witkoff?” Peskov asked wryly during a briefing in response to a Reuters reporter. “In this case, Witkoff seems much more appealing,” he added with a laugh.
On December 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to meet in Moscow with Steven Witkoff, the U.S. president’s special envoy. The meeting may cover the latest version of the American peace plan.
