Russia tells no power can limit size of its military budget
No one can limit Russia’s military budget; Moscow is only strengthening its defense potential despite Western policy tightening, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.
1news.media reports, citing TASS, he was commenting on recent dissatisfaction expressed by the head of the EU diplomatic service, Kaja Kallas, who viewed Russia’s defense spending as a threat to the European Union. “She can say whatever she wants. No one is capable of limiting our military budget. The logic [in the West] is that the more they deprive us of so-called oil and gas revenues, the less we will be able to produce weapons and strengthen our military power,” the deputy minister said.
However, as Western policies in the military sphere become stricter, Russia “is only becoming stronger,” Grushko emphasized. “We are introducing new weapons systems. Unlike the West, in this sense we feel confident,” added the Russian deputy foreign minister.
