Khankendi hosts Garabagh Education and Partnership Forum
Azerbaijan’s city of Khankendi hosted Monday the Garabagh Education and Partnership Forum under the theme “Joint Steps for the Future Karabakh.”
AZERTAC’s regional correspondent reports that the event was co-organized by the Garabagh University, the Karabakh Revival Fund, the Education Development Fund, and the Azerbaijan Education Workers Free Trade Union, in collaboration with Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Science and Education, and the Ministry of Economy.
The event gathered over 200 participants, including members of public institutions, Special Representative Offices of Azerbaijani President located in the region, as well as representatives of private sector, as well as academic-teaching staff of the Garabagh University.
The opening remarks were delivered by Shahin Bayramov, Rector of the Garabagh University; Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education; and Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in the city of Khankendi and Aghdara, and Khojaly districts. They spoke about developing education in the Karabakh region, strengthening human capital, and strategic importance of the public-private sector collaboration.
The forum saw the establishment of the “Garabagh Scholarship Program”.
A number of institutions including Karabakh Revival Fund, Veyseloglu Group of Companies, International Bank of Azerbaijan, “Kapital Bank” OJSC, Azerbaijan Education Workers Free Trade Union Republican Committee, “McDonald’s Azerbaijan” CJSC, “PSG Capital” Investment Company, ASELSAN Company, “GEN ilach” Company, LANDAU School, “Hadaf” Group of Companies, Chashioglu Research Production LLC , Inci Group of Companies LLC, “Code Academy”, Baku Design Academy and TUNA Company pledged to provide scholarships for students of the Garabagh University.
The primary goal is to foster the socio-economic development of the region, strengthen public-private sector cooperation, as well as to inspire young people and arouse interest in the region, provide financial support to students, and encourage their academic and professional development.
The scholarship program aims to support socially vulnerable groups and enhance the motivation of students with high academic achievements, along with fostering the growth of human capital in the region.
The forum proceeded with the panel discussions on “The Great Return: Challenges and Opportunities” and “Opportunities for Public-Private Partnership in Karabakh”.
The first panel on “The Great Return: Challenges and Opportunities” was moderated by Elnur Nasibov, Chairman of the Board of the Education Development Fund, with Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education; Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in the city of Khankendi and Aghdara, and Khojaly districts; Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund; and Shahin Bayramov, Rector of the Garabagh University.
The speakers discussed revival of the Karabakh region and developing human capital.
The second panel on “Opportunities for Public-Private Partnership in Karabakh”, moderated by Jeyhun Karamov, Director of the State Agency on Vocational Education, featured speakers Aydin Talibov, Founder and CEO of the Veyseloglu Group of Companies; Taleh Tahirli, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan International Bank; Farid Hidayatzade, member of the Executive Board of the “Kapital Bank” OJSC; and Araz Pashayev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Education Workers Free Trade Union.
The panel focused on prospects for public-private sector collaboration.
