Russia strikes Kyiv overnight, 3 dead and 29 injured
On the night of October 26, the Russian army carried out another airstrike on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv.
1news.media reports that during the night, the air defense system was activated and explosions were heard. Neutralized drones caused fires in some residential buildings in Kyiv.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that, according to preliminary information, 3 people were killed and 29 injured as a result of the airstrike. Three of the injured are children.
According to him, a neutralized drone fell on the second floor of a nine-story building in the Desnyansk district of the capital. Several apartments caught fire, and the fire spread to balconies on the fourth and seventh floors. The fire has now been extinguished.
In another nine-story residential building, the windows and doors of apartments, as well as the facade and ceiling of the sixth and eighth floors, were partially damaged. Five people were rescued.
Drone debris also fell on a 16-story residential building in the Obolon district. One apartment was damaged. No fire or structural damage occurred.
