The signing ceremony was attended by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy and Chairman of SOCAR’s Supervisory Board Mikayil Jabbarov, UCC Holding Chairman Moutaz Al-Khayyat, and other senior officials. The documents were signed by SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and UCC Holding President Ramez Al-Khayyat.
The MoUs cover cooperation across the entire energy value chain, including oil and gas exploration and production, development of transportation and storage infrastructure, refining and petrochemical projects, trading and supply of crude oil, petroleum products, and aviation fuel, as well as the construction of highly efficient combined-cycle gas turbine power plants.
Supported by the governments of Azerbaijan and Qatar, the agreement aimed at accelerating the restoration of Syria’s energy sector holds significant importance for the country’s overall development. The partnership will help rebuild Syria’s core energy infrastructure based on modern practices and international standards.
The second document signed between the companies outlines cooperation in other countries and the implementation of joint projects in international energy markets.
