As part of the forum, the Deputy Minister took part in a panel discussion dedicated to the current international situation. In his remarks, Fariz Rzayev spoke about the historic agreements reached during the Washington summit held on August 8, the Azerbaijan–Armenia reconciliation process, and the broader peace agenda, highlighting their importance for regional stability.
The speech also underlined Azerbaijan’s contribution to Europe’s energy security, as well as the large-scale energy and transport projects implemented with Azerbaijan’s participation. Rzayev provided information on the country’s strategic role in the development and operation of international transport routes, including the Middle Corridor.
Panel discussions further addressed Azerbaijan’s successful hosting and presidency of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). The Deputy Minister highlighted the achievements and landmark decisions made within the framework of COP29 on issues that had remained unresolved for years.
In addition, several bilateral working meetings were held during the visit.
