Turkiye blocks Israeli ship from docking in Istanbul

Turkiye has barred a vessel operated by the Israeli shipping company ZIM from docking at Istanbul Port, forcing the ship to divert its route to Greece’s Piraeus Port.

1news.media informs according to Turkish media, the move comes as part of a new policy that restricts access to all ships with ties to Israel, signaling escalating maritime measures by Turkiye.

Under the new regulations, any vessel flying the Israeli flag or owned by Israeli companies is prohibited from entering Turkiye’s ports. Similarly, ships under the Turkish flag will no longer be allowed to call at Israeli ports.

The restrictions also extend to cargo. Goods destined for or originating from Israel cannot be loaded, unloaded, or transported through ports in Turkiye.
