Investment in Khankendi, Khojaly, and Aghdara surpasses AZN 56 million, special representative says
Great progress has been achieved in the liberated territories in terms of restoring the economy, creating jobs and stimulating business activity. A total of 506 facilities have already been leased to entrepreneurs. These include 374 facilities in Khankendi city, 35 in Aghdara, and 97 in Khojaly. More than 56 million manats have been invested in these territories, said Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi, Aghdara and Khojaly districts, as he addressed the opening ceremony of the 6th Summer Camp of Azerbaijani Diaspora Youth in Khankendi.
According to him, over 2 thousand people have been provided with jobs at the facilities that have started operating. “We expect this number to surpass 5,000 once other facilities under existing contracts also become operational. The concessional mechanisms applied in the liberated territories have been instrumental in achieving these economic successes," the special representative added.
