Pezeshkian blames Tehran for diplomatic rift with Baku
Azerbaijan is dear to us. How is it that I go there and achieve no agreement, but Israel manages to do so? We are unable to establish a connection.
1news.media reports that this was stated by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in remarks about relations with Azerbaijan.
Pezeshkian strongly responded to recent domestic criticism over his visit to Baku:
“If two neighboring countries fail to establish relations, the responsibility lies with the Iranian side. If no connection has been made, the fault is ours.”
