Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler crowned European champion in Serbia

Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Elmin Aliyev achieved a remarkable feat by winning the gold medal at the U-23 European Championships held in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

Aliyev, competing in the 82kg weight category, secured a decisive victory over Georgian athlete Tornike Mikeladze to claim the European title.

Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Farid Khalilov has finished third at the U-23 European Championships held in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

Competing in the 67 kg weight category, Khalilov faced Hungary’s Zhytovoz Petro in the bronze medal match. The bout concluded with a victory for the Azerbaijani representative, securing him the bronze medal.

The European Championship will conclude on March 15.
