German Chancellor congratulates Ilham Aliyev

On December 4, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Friedrich Merz called President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

It was noted that Friedrich Merz, first of all, conveyed his congratulations on the achievements made in advancing the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The Chancellor emphasized that Germany supports stability in the region.

Expressing gratitude for the congratulations, the head of state noted that Azerbaijan is the author of regional peace initiatives.

President Ilham Aliyev stated that our country will continue its efforts to ensure and strengthen lasting peace in the region.

During the telephone conversation, views were exchanged on the prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Germany.

Chancellor Friedrich Merz invited the head of state to visit Germany. President Ilham Aliyev, who accepted the invitation with pleasure, in turn invited the German Chancellor to visit Azerbaijan. Friedrich Merz also accepted the invitation with pleasure.
