Pakistan hosts conference on Azerbaijan's Remembrance Day

The Heydar Aliyev Auditorium of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Pakistan hosted a conference titled "September 27 – Remembrance Day: Glorious Heroism."

According to Report, the event was organized at the initiative of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Pakistan.

The conference was attended by ambassadors from foreign countries, senators, scholars, NUST faculty and students, representatives of think tanks, media, and NGOs, Azerbaijani nationals residing in Pakistan, and embassy staff.

The event began with a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs, followed by the playing of both nations' anthems. A commemorative video presenting detailed insights into the significance of Remembrance Day was then screened.

Speaking at the event, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, reflected on the Second Karabakh War, which began on September 27, 2020, and resulted in the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. He emphasized that thanks to the 44-day Patriotic War, Azerbaijan not only achieved this goal but also reshaped the political landscape of the region. The ambassador noted that Pakistan's moral and political support for Azerbaijan's just position-both during the conflict and in its aftermath-has always been highly valued.

The conference also featured speeches by several Pakistani officials, including Mushahid Hussain, who supported Azerbaijan's stance on the Khojaly tragedy during his tenure as Chairman of Pakistan's Senate Standing Committee on Defence; NUST Pro-Rector Muhammad Arif Malik, and others.
