Trump asked about reports on prosecutors seeking indictment of former FBI director

The public version of the meeting is over but before that, Trump was asked about US media reports that former FBI director James Comey could be indicted in the coming days.

Trump says he doesn't know anything about the indictment and that it is up to attorneys at the Justice Department to bring one.

As a reminder, Trump has publicly pressured the department's attorneys to bring charges against his political foes, including Comey.

Comey was one of three FBI directors who served during Trump's first term and his office investigated whether Trump's 2016 campaign had collaborated with Russia to help him win. Trump has been highly critical of that investigation. Comey is under investigation for allegedly lying to Congress during testimony.

Last week, a top US prosecutor in the office investigating Comey and New York's attorney general resigned after his office didn't bring charges against both of them.
