An Azerbaijani delegation led by Nigar Arpadarai, UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP29, met with Juan Carlos Navarro, Minister of Environment of Panama, on the margins of the Panama Climate Week.
“Panama continues to lead by example in the region, with a strong sustainable finance taxonomy and a multi-year goal of reducing emissions by prioritizing the energy and land use sectors,” Nigar Arpadarai said.
“We also exchanged views on how to scale outcomes from the COP29 Presidency Action Agenda. As we look ahead, regional leadership like Panama’s will be essential in translating global ambition into local impact.
Panama’s rich biodiversity and deep commitment to protecting its natural heritage make it a powerful voice in the climate conversation,” the COP29 High-Level Champion added.
