Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency calls on public to rely exclusively on information from official sources
The Media Development Agency of Azerbaijan has issued a statement regarding the fake news circulated across various social media platforms.
The statement reads: “A false statement purportedly issued by First Deputy Prime Minister Yaqub Eyyubov, alleging that Azerbaijan is pursuing an aggressive stance toward Russia, has been widely circulated across various social media platforms. This fabricated claim was artificially generated using “deep fake” technology and bears no relation to reality.
We recognize that this deceptive video, produced with the aid of artificial intelligence by certain groups, is a blatant example of misinformation intended to distort the information environment and mislead the public.
We strongly encourage the public to rely exclusively on information from official sources and remind everyone that the official position of the government can only be verified through reputable channels, including state news agencies and professional media outlets.
We call on Azerbaijani citizens, journalists, and public activists to stand firm against such incidents and to remain alert in an environment where fake news and false information campaigns are increasingly prevalent.”
