Australia expresses gratitude to Azerbaijan for supporting the evacuation of its citizens from Iran

Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with his Australian counterpart, Penny Wong, on June 20.

The conversation focused on the current regional security situation stemming from the Israel-Iran escalation.

The Australian Foreign Minister outlined her country’s plans to evacuate its citizens from Iran and expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for the support provided.

The ministers also exchanged views on other bilateral issues of mutual concern. They emphasized the importance of the political consultation mechanism between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.
